THE KEEPER’S NOTES

A Lighthouse Keeper lives in Ruyan-city. He keeps the fire of Ruyan, secures and looks after the city. Also the keeper makes notes about everything that happens on the Ob riverbank in his dairy. Here are some extracts from these notes:

“Vasil Gazizulin was in the city from January 21 till January 23. I’m not sure about Vasil, but my dream came true – finally the electric generators were brought on these days. We began using electricity round o’clock. On the same day the heating system was launched in the Big House – the guards were turned into stokers. Now their task is to throw every hour piles of firewood into insatiable wood burner stove.
The second good news was the delivery of orange jeep to Ruyan-city. It became clear immediately, whose city it is, and who is the chief in it! With joy we put a “harness” on this “animal” and brought firewood cart closer to yurts, in order not to carry them on handbarrows. Also we laid a winter road, to make it easier for guests to reach us.

It did not take long for guests to come. In the morning on January 22 Vasil got a call on his mobile phone – some people from “Cosy house” company wanted to visit our city. They arrived to Ruyan-city by lunch time. The meeting apparently was productive and efficient. It is a pity I did not hear the whole conversation as I was busy making tea and arranging furniture to welcome guests. Later I joined the company and understood that the guests were eager to take part in construction of the city.

While showing local places of interest Vasil explained conception of the “idea of civilization theory of progressive part of business development” and “ideology of the city as the essence of freedom from the point of voluntarism and fatalism”. And at the same time I was obtaining information about prices for works and opinions of specialists regarding further decoration of buildings and construction of new facilities. The guys made photos all the time and showed their works on notebook. After that we continued our meeting in warm yurt drinking tea with jam and biscuits. People left the city full of ideas and with particular proposals, which they promised to finalize in the nearest future.

I constantly pressed Vasil with practical questions, and Vasil generated global ideas regarding youth school of international business, conduction of education seminars, building of business and marketing system in Russian village. Our dialogue was mutually useful.
