"EXPEDITION" AT MAY EXTREME-2012
The festival “May Extreme 2012” took place on May 27 in Yekaterinburg. “Expedition” – Oleg Basis, Ilya and Alexei Belovs and a bear Umych have not just took part in the festival, but rocked on orange catamaran and orange… piano. Details are in photo-report of Alexei Belov.
Everything started as usual, from traditional not getting enough sleep. Get up at six in the morning and we drive Vyacheslav, the yacht’s captain to the city pond. Today is the main race of the festival. Last night Slava invented methods how to improve the catamaran to make it faster and he was eager to make all positive changes.
With a help of Pavel Garanin, fathomless well of instruments and spare-parts, the catamaran was modernized and prepared for the final race.
Meanwhile we have arrived to the city park on the river Iset.
Rainy, cloudy beginning of the day made me very much upset.
There was a threat that guests would not come in such a rain
And the event has begun.
We had several tasks at the festival:
1. To improve awareness and open “Expedition” for those, who knows nothing of it yet (and such people really exist, even though it seems strange).
2. To attract new consumers to Yekaterinburg shops in short and long term prospective…
3. To cover expenses for the event by selling all assortment of goods directly at the event.
4. To begin selling orange sail catamarans on by-order basis.
5. To win the catamaran division of the regatta, as the second is the first among losers.
The first, the second and the third points we planned to accomplish as follows: we distribute 5000 leaflets. The presenter of a leaflet will get free bowl-origami on our meadow and discount 10% for the whole assortment today, + free tea with bread-rings.
The same leaflet grants 8% discount in any our shop within a week. The leaflet can be exchanged on discount card, by filling up a questionnaire at the event or in any our shop will November 30, 2012.
We had to attract maximum possible quantity of guests of the festival to our meadow by any possible ways. That is why, in addition to everything, we arranged performance of “live” musicians + real orange piano.

One hour concert, compositions of Bach, Metallica, Ray Charles and Alexandrov were performed

Thanks to Slava and wet Artem (according to conditions of the race, the first who jumps on the parapet is a winner. Artem has overcome water difficulty with honor) – we are the first!
